    912 Transmission Serial Number Question

Looking for a Transmission Serial number is a skill for me. I am assuming it is under the engine, so one hopes to be very skinny or have a means to elevate the car. My Porsche is equipt with a 5 speed, though I do not know the ratios or brand. It is likely a fairly standard system as this is a 912 and not a 911s.

I would look under the transmission; and yes, the car would need to be raised. The numbers are found along the lowest rib between the diff and the clutch. The number system is very straightforward; sometimes the 911 & 912 shared the same set of serial numbers.
