    Original Herbol touch-up paint found!

    I was hunting through a box of parts that I put away about 8 years ago and discovered an original can of Herbol code 80 silver paint that is still sealed and liquid!
    I will be carefully trying to open this can so I can get a test sample to match up for my code 80 silver car that will be heading to paint next month.

    Silver (metallic) had a two stage procedure, with a transparent coat applied after.

    Yes, the can indicates "for two-layer metallic process"

    I assume that the 80 in the metallic vorlack refers to the temperature.. as the baking temperature of the colors had been different.

    That is a great article, thanks for posting the link... Funny the baking temp is also the color code (see top right image, "silber POR 80").
