    Value of Alloy Roll Bar

As part of a '73RS I am working on, we have a 1973 Vintage Alloy Roll Bar. Believed to be original. No numbers on it, though I understand some had numbers and some did not. We are considering selling the bar, as the car was originally (and currently) equipped with the rear seat delete/storage option and the bar is not useful. Can anyone shed some light on a value for this piece? I cannot find one that has ever been for sale. Many thanks!

I don't know as to it's monetary value. I can tell you that the cars I was around in those days replaced it with steel, as they really did not work for stated purpose. In addition I don't think they were legal in IMSA.

Yes, I would not trust my life with this bar, by any stretch. But for a street car or restoration, it is an interesting, historical piece and certainly looks killer.

It looks like a cool bit. It may be the angle of the pictures but I believe it is shaped wrong/different from any factory bar that I have seen. Also where the rear legs attach to the seat mountings are different from factory bars I have seen.

If it was an original 934 cage for a static display car it would have value, but I wouldn't put too much value in yours. They were outlawed for racing.

Hmm. Didn’t think of 934. ... but then again, never have seen a real one even close to how they left the factory.

That's nothing like the 934 bar, I believe Gordon was just making reference as an "IF."
