No. The early cars had the wipers parked on the PASSENGER side.

not in 68, I believe this is the first year they were parked on drivers side.

Here's the tool we made to fix the gaps at the corners of the windshield. Just a few light taps with a hammer and the metal trim forces the seal outward. I made the tool from a wood shim I bought at Home Depot. Hope this helps.

My error in not defining "early cars" as being 64-67. Yes, parking went left side (driver) beginning in 68. Why? I'm told this was due to complaints from racers who wanted the first stroke to move water away from their view, rather than a first stroke that dumped water on to their view. I have no idea whether this is true or apocryphal.

If you decide to move the wipers back to the left side just follow the directions in the link above. I relocated mine to the passenger on my 73 side and it was pretty straight forward.

when I restored my 1970 car, my body shop said fine on purchasing a aftermarket rubber kit, but they insisted on using factory Porsche front and back window rubber. I assume to avoid these fitting problems in the first place. And they were right --perfect fit. Chris
