Calling the Seat Police! Sport Seat question

I have found a set of Recaro Sport Seats - the 69-73 version with separate headrests & reclining backs. They are in Yurrup so not handy for me to see in person.

It is my understanding that the same type of seat was made as an aftermarket/not Porsche-specific seat and also as a BMW optional seat. It's also my understanding that the Porsche version was narrower than the other two versions.

Can an Officer of the Seat Law tell me what the width of the OE sport seat is -- outside dimension from hinge to hinge. TIA

Thanks, Eric! I'm off to Monterey in the AM but will post pics when back. I get that the rail spacing may be the simple way to figure this out -- from the thread you linked to. Seats are not with the seller but with his upholstery guy, so some logistics required to get that measurement.

    Really appreciate the response.

Hi probably all is clear already.
To keep it simple (not going into all the detail) basically there are two seats.
One where the sliders are mounted directly (like SWB) and one where sliders are part of the bracket (like LWB).
The ones with the sliders directly on the seat were also sold as aftermarket seat.
The OE BMW seat differ to LWB Sport seats having the hinges Chromed and the little tabs where they are mounted to the bracket only feature one hole - so no height adjustment (oddly I also had one with painted hinges and only one hole at the tabs).
The OE Ford seats feature no Headrest and are wider at the boulsters (distance hinge to hinge is identical). How the bottom of Ford seats looks I don't know.
The (aftermarket) seats were available in wider and longer variants.
The BMW seats look a tad wider but the substructure is identical apart from the above mentioned tabs.
