    Door Pockets

I had a very ratty set of door pockets from a 73 911 that I am rebuilding. The back ones were torn and warped, and the front ones were worse with large speaker holes cut in them.

I was sure they were goners and I would just do an RS door panel, but figured I would ask Autos International where I was getting the rest of the interior. Based on some pictures, they said they could try and rebuild them, to send them with the other parts.

Got them back today, and they look amazing. So no matter how bad you think your pockets might be, there is a good chance they can be rebuilt for way less that buying new. Plus you have the added benefit of keeping the original parts.

We are lucky we have a lot of good folks to support our hobby. I pick up a lot of good references off this site.

Really nice. What did AI charge to restore the set?

I believe it was $850 to restore the set and they reused the chrome trim. Price is based on condition of the pockets- mine were pretty bad which is one reason I was so blown away when they came back. The chrome trim as a few imperfections which I kind of like because it doesn’t look like brand new on a vintage car, and when I bang it up, I won’t feel so bad.

That seems like a very fair price.
