Back to finishing up this thread with some additional detail shots from the paddock.
There was a total of 17 Porsche tractors on display, everything from the largest to hot-rodded Juniors with aerodynamic aids. There was even a tractor race, complete with a LeMans style run across-the-track start, but naturally when it was announced I was at the opposite end of the track & missed it all.
Another fascinating display was Canepa Design's latest project, the handbuilt, highly limited edition ( only 50 will ever be produced ) 959 SC. As the brochure tells us, " had Porsche continued with the development of the 959, it would most certainly look and perform something like this".
The cars are subjected to a 4000 hour processs of rebuilding, modifying and & restoring each car destined to become a 959SC by endowing the SC with what Canepa calls Generation III performance, which allows the handbuilt motor to produce 800 HP, 75% more than stock, utilizing the latest technology twin Borg-Warner turbos, new engine management software, redesigned fuel and ignition systems, a whole new clutch system, yet with significantly improved drivability and overall reliability remaining the same. A whole new suspension system with custom Bilstein coil-over units utilizing titanium springs aids in achieving improved ride and handling to eclipse modern 'supercars. Sounds like the ultimate classic 911. All will be paint-to-sample finished with bespoke all-leather upholstery.

John,
Did you get any pictures of "31 in the Chopard tent (#718006 , the prototype 59 Spyder)?

If you go back to page 6, you'll find a rearview of No. 31, and Yes, I have two additional images of the car.
I am beginning to realize that I simply didn't do as thorough of a job as I would have liked to do, and that there may be quite a few important cars I either didn't pay sufficient attention to or just plain missed for one reason or another.....................sorry.
