Show me 911L FIA grp2 engine + bay

As stated in a separate thread, I do have some maintenance to make on my L (clutch and shocks replacement), I'd take the opportunity to go a bit further on her fia Grp 2 transformation.
To making it so, I would need some (details) pics of the engine + engine bay of those fantastic cars, I mean the 911L that was raced at that time.

the sister car to #20 was raced at Rennsport 6 last week end. It is #21 I took pictures of the engine bay but I can not know if the engine looks the same as it did back in the 1960's. I do not think it was a 911L as #20 is. Chris

Greetings Chris, if we talk about the same #21 yes it is a L, part of the 3 PART ones (#20,#21,#22).
If you would be kind enough to post the pic(s) you have of #21 engine bay, that would be valuable for my archive at least.

Hi breakiller-- The pictures I took at Rennsport 6 were of the #21 car, not #20. I have never posted pictures on this site and do not know how to do it. I will see if I can but don"t hold your breath. You might have better luck with the owner. Porsport.com has the car now, maybe they have pics on their site. Chris

Car number 21 is an amazing example and does belong to Don at porsport.com. More info here including plenty of pics...

Note however that 21 is not an "L". It is a 67 Factory Trans Am racer of which only a few were made. A couple of telltales include the door handles and the wipers parked on the passenger side. Very similar spec to the 68 L lightweights but included some extra engine work from the factory.

Thanks Jim, when I had a look at Serge's pics, I did notice the wipers which are 67 and not 68, you are right. Thats is interesting for my records and I need to get into the material I have though as it might be the case of number swap.
In the pics I posted earlier, the last car, which is supposed to be #21 has the wiper on the passenger side and chrome.
I'll make some more investigation as soon as I have a bit of more time.

However, I seek pics of the engine bay of #20 911L 1968.

    Hi Xavier
there is a big difference in the engine bay between 911L FIA Gp2 track cars like those Trans Am ones and the Gp2 rally cars
the engine bay on the rallye cars looks stock whereas the track cars have the air cleaners aff etc

I have some photos of different versions in documents that i will email you directly
    On the 3 PART trans am cars car #21 is a 67 (308107S) but the other two cars are L's I understand - #20 1181042 and #21 11810482 (I think)
however given they were built up as team cars I suspect the detailing in the engine bay would be very similar, if not the same across all 3 cars.

Edit #20 is 11810429 i left out the last digit
