Weekend update.
In the past month I have spoken to Tony twice (2 and 4 weeks ago). Each time we had a nice 10 minute conversation and he promised to mail the locks and keys back the same day. I emailed asking for payment information as a follow up each time.
Nothing. Crickets.
I’m left with 3 options.
(1) Fly down to Philly on points and drive out to Sharon Hill and bang on his door.
(2) Get some helpful ESR member in the area to pick up the stuff and mail it to me (will cover cost obviously).
(3) Buy a new or used set somewhere and move on with life. Hard lesson learned.
Man, I sure know how to pick ‘em!

You are not alone Ravi.
Ravi - I’m not far away. I wouldn’t mind getting them for you and taking care of payment as long as it’s a friendly visit. I’m not there to threaten anyone, just do a favor and help facilitate the transfer. Let me know. I’m at Mark@MarkEpstein.net or 302 540 9242

Thank you Mark. That would be fantastic. I don't even need the work done (I suspect he hasn't done anything!), I just don't want to leave my car unusable for 2-3 years. It has never been confrontational with Tony, quite the opposite, so if I let him know you will be there to pick it up, there should be zero issues. If he has done the work, then bonus! I'll PayPal you right away. Thank you very much. I'll give you a call soon.

Well la de da. After multiple phone calls and emails, Tony has actually finished the job and put it in the mail.
Huge shout out to Mark for his willingness to help if my efforts had failed.
Looks like I will be driving this summer, without looking like I hotwired and stole the car!

Well, since I was the one to complain, I should also acknowledge when things get fixed. Locks and keys came this past Monday. Work perfectly. Reassembled into the door handles and a new ignition switch body (964 part number-see my build thread for why I did this) and will install today. From the time I mailed him the package to the time I got it back it was two and a half months. That's more than acceptable turnaround. Perfect for a winter project. But I did have to call and keep on him every week. And I did have to pull the health card. I know others here have been waiting much longer.
At any rate, all's well that ends well. Thanks Early S registry for the emotional support.

It was, as expected from experience, worth the wait.

Thankfully, this round of bitching seems to have come to an end. Tony has always been knowledgeable, helpful and prompt in our dealings. I have no problem with recommending his services even in this age where so many expect and demand instant gratification for everything they do.
Let's hope the "health card" that Ravi played is not too serious. I deal with too many each week for whom health is a real concern.
