Thread: SSI’s heat exchangers for carbs ?

SSI’s heat exchangers for carbs ?

Seems from searches I can only find these with a feed for CSI...
    All descriptions for 71 2.2 carburetors say carbs/csi ...
Does anyone make SS heat exchangers just for carbs without extra tube for CSI
    Thanks

Not sure what you're finding, but both carbureted cars and CIS injection cars do not use a preheat tube. Can you tell me this source you're using.

I mis stated ....my engine builder stated that the SSI’s had a tube extension for MFI ( not CIS as I stated).
The supplier has sent the same heat exchangers twice ...for MFI . I was looking for the part number for correct SSI.
Believe it should be 91- 911- SSI -INT this is what was on Pelican site.
Trying to make sure supplier gets it right the next time.

The description for the SSI heat exchangers states for Carbs/CIS , so it’s as you have confirmed .
    Thanks

Is this because they are only stocking one set? The MFI set can just simply have the stub pipe for the MFI preheat plugged.

Yes am advised that is true and they will only make one version with stub pipe.
And as you stated Will need to plug the stub pipe. Too bad visually.

SSI heat exchangers are available in both carb/CIS-specific and MFI-specific versions. I don't think there is a version specific for carbs-only.

Correct.....CIS/ Carbs & MFI.....but when you order the SSI now Dansk... carb/cis you will only get the MFI version .
And as Has been noted ...the pipe for the preheat needs to be capped.
