    Cool Somethings never change....

I ran my car last Monday at the Streets of Willow at the PCA Long Beach Region's 'Day Away From Work' event... It was a fun day

On the way back on Rosamond Road I took a pic of the old Desert Oasis Market. The Desert Oasis Market is in front of the Desert Oasis Trailer Park and about half way between the freeway and the track and has been there for God knows how long...

For those that have read some of my history know that I got my first ride in a Porsche, a '69S back in '72 when we were tire testing an Alfa GTA at the track.... This ride blew me away... And it was a ride to the Oasis Market to pick up lunch !!!

In '66 we cut high school to come out to Willow and drive the track until the local sheriff kicked us out...
The Desert Oasis Market was there....

In fact until about the late '70's early '80's the Desert Oasis Market and Trailer Park, the silver mine, and Willow Springs Raceway were the only things between the old road (then freeway) and the end of the road...

Shopping centers, strip malls, schools, restaurants, Autozone... all came MUCH later

BUT..... The Desert Oasis Market and Trailer Park is still there...…….

    …. and so it goes

Cool rail to hitch the horses to.

I agree Chuck; so few things in life these days provide the warmth and comfort of decades-old familiarity.
