    Marks on piston skirt

    Hi

    Has anyone seen these kinds of marks on piston skirts before?

    Common practice in the old days, especially domestic engines, to knurl pistons to tighten clearances against cylinder wall. Use to do it to inside of valve guides as well. All pretty short lived fixes. G
