    Well in Germany that's different as recently dsgvo was put in place.
    This will put you in trouble if you're transferring personal Data - that's as little a name and an email address - without encryption.
    There is a grey area for non - commercial where it is not reasonable to do so but no clear definition from which extent it is reasonable to change to https.
    But fines can draconical if you've missed it as a business.

    Still can't believe that bloated POS ever became the law of the land. I have a buddy in the compliance business and he's laughing all the way to the bank. His nickname for DSGVO is "my vacation home in Italy".

    GDPR is a disaster.... The possible fines are out of control.

    I'm now getting contracts from European based customers who are asking for $50 million in E&O / cyber-security insurance.

    That's crazy.

    Government bureaucrats doing their best work. I remember first hearing of it and thinking "that'll never be a thing" then not too long later "they did what??!!??".
