For (some /all?) those later ( April onwards?) in 73 RS equipped with that raised area on LHS slam panel metalwork expect a corresponding raised area on glassfibre ducktail just behind the black bump stop under lid at LHS where two would mate when closed ....is that raised area just visible in David's picture LHS under lid but, not seen on RHS edge under lid?

Makes sense to have second flat raised similar mating surface if that modified area was intended to be a area redesigned to better facilitate use of spring plunger switch that would trigger an armed car alarm when opening lid, as previously suggested. Flat area easier to set lid for switch gap and avoid false trigger than uneven equivalent area on earlier 73 cars.

If April onward for slam panel then lid change maybe coinciding third series RS glass lids (roughly speaking over vin 1000). I don't have a late example RS so not as knowledgable on such detail once the light aluminium frame original spec ducktail lowering homologation weight to FIA discontinued.

Also don't know if later 73 series production TES and any later RS optioned with metal rear lid had a similar raised area under lid in same area to match later modified raised slam panel area on LHS -- never personally checked under lid area on later 73 metal lid.

    Steve
