PORSCHE 1968 911 Lux Soft Window Targa
VIN: 11860022
Engine: 3080042
Paint Code: 6804 Light Ivory
Milage: 20,373
Price: $90,000 OBO
Recently found this full numbers matching soft window Targa. Only 307 produced. The car had been in storage for five years. The car runs strong and drives. Currently black but original color is Light Ivory. Car retains five matching number wheels. All original panels.
Exterior:
The paint is a 7 and begs to be painted back to it’s original color. All panels shut nicely. I see no indications of rust on any panel or chassis. The current black color needs a good polishing and will still hold nicely. Original wheels/glass/door mirror and exterior accessories. The targa top is a 8 out of 10. Show wear. The underside still retains it’s original material. Top close and open welI. The fit on the targa top to the car is a 8-10. The seals are worn.
Interior:
Retains it’s original soft window targa in excellent condition. No tears or rear plastic window faded. Very nice piece. Front seats original and excellent condition with no tears. Rear seats have a slight tear on the tops. Carpet used but a great condition. Original door panels are missing but all the aluminum trims and excellent condition. The dash is pristine like no other I have seen in these older classics. All gauges working. Missing OEM radio. The interior also has the all alum trim as did the 67 911S. The interior Elephant hide is a one year only design.
Motor and Suspension:
Matching numbers 2.0 130 hp. with it’s original 40 IDAP Webber carbs. Not sure of the 20K miles are original to the car but the motor sure is clean and runs very strong. The motor has been upgraded with turbo style he valve covers. The car has new yellow Bilstien rear shocks. The L (LUX) model come with vent disc brakes. The rest of the suspension looks stock. Transmission is a 902/1 5 speed and matching 3280045
Overall:
This car is very rare and a Euro model since it’s missing the side markers that were only used on US models. The speedo gauges in kilometers. Many of these beautiful cars were rusted out due to the open top design.
