    Can you say exactly what mods are needed??? E.g., is it a big job to do?

    Great solution Oliver. I have a similar set in a box tucked away for a number of years, but never hot to working on it.
    Seems like you welded the tab for the rubber buffer on the outside of the ring to get enough clearance and the front of the ring is cut round wide enough to clear the lens. But is there enough room left for the other to rubber buffers in the ring and is there enough clearance with the welded tab with the outer bucket?

    Yes enough room
    Might need fender bowl clearance, could be tight
