Hi, here is my one. This is the early style with wooden base, working and still going well.

Alan has a great example of the early version in his links, with the wood base and brass number plaque.

Here is my gray paint version on the shelf. These were the three original paint colors that I've seen- blue, green or gray.
I'm not in the mood to pull it down and clean it, and you can see how the paint is flaking off :-(

Just a curious question. Is there a proper way to use this tool. Such as intake side vrs exhaust? Crazy I know. I have one of these too and it seems I have an asymmetric spring set up on mine! They do seem original but a little different height & spring coil count is 8&9. Note the different reach/angle on the bottom of the hoop, left & right......cliff

Cliff, the tool is asymmetrical, and cylinder heads will only sit properly in one direction. In your photo, the intake side is on the right.
If you measure various things on the tool, you'll see the pieces are different left to right, and the piston dome is offset too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but were these for 2.0 heads. Did they make them for other heads. Did the change in valve angle and open combustion chamber affect the use of these tools. I had access to these but never used them. Gordon

Gordon, I don't recall having any issues using the P200 on later heads through 2.7, but Porsche introduced the P200a in the 70s, a much simpler tool...

My old P200 is similar to Alan's -- a wooden base and metal finished with silvery blue paint -- also featuring the split/ join at top.
