    Replacing electrical components

I’m starting to restore my 911S. Most of the components are original and haven’t been replaced before. For example the components on the rear electrical panel. When folks restore are there components that should be replaced given the age, even if they appear to be working ok? Welcome the input.

You're on a slippery slope. Once you begin, where do you stop. If it ain't broke, leave it alone. The enemy of good is better.

Drive the snot out of the car as it is and replace original components only when they fail beyond repair...that’s my advice.

Just got a original 68 911L running and driving. I do not dare touch the electrical components on the car until I need to. Avoid that slippery slope. Chris

On my ‘70E project, I had the CDI and MFI transducer rebuilt by Kurt at Partsklassic. The rest I left alone.

The only rear relay board part that I would rebuild or replace would be the CD unit. I second the Partsklassic unit. Kurt does great work.
The other relays and voltage regulator are not really "rebuildable" and you certainly don't want to buy current replacements! Clean them up and install new stickers.

And definitely don’t replace the coil with current “replacement”.
