    BaT Description:

This 1967 Porsche 911S was acquired by the seller in 2008, prior to which it had been owned by the seller’s father since 1996. Finished in silver over black, the car is powered by a 2.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. A 2018 refurbishment included bodywork, a repaint, an engine rebuild, and replacement of the clutch and flywheel. Features include 15″ Fuchs wheels, a sunroof, VDO instrumentation, and an AM/FM radio. This 911S is now offered with refurbishment records and photos, spare parts, a tool roll, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Finished from the factory in Black (6609), the car was repainted in its current shade of silver in 1999 and again in 2018, at which time rust repair was commissioned. Additional features include bright trim, a driver-side mirror, front vent windows, a sunroof, and a polished exhaust finisher.

Replacement 15″ Fuchs wheels are said to have been refinished in preparation for the sale and are mounted with 185/65 Continental ProContact TX tires showing 2021 date codes. A full-size Fuchs spare wheel and tire are housed in the front trunk. The rear suspension components were removed, inspected, and reassembled in March 2018.

The interior features front and rear seats trimmed in black vinyl that extends to the door panels, along with a matching dashboard and carpeting. Features include a replacement steering wheel, a push-button AM/FM radio, a lockable glovebox, sun visors, and courtesy lights. The seller notes that the carpeting has not been replaced. The replaced steering wheel shown in the gallery exhibits frayed leather and is included in the sale.

VDO instrumentation consists of an 8k-rpm tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 60k miles, approximately 3k of which have been added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.

The 2.0-liter flat-six was rated for 160 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque in the 1967 911S. The engine was rebuilt in March 2018 by Benton Performance of Anaheim, California, a process that consisted of repairing engine leaks as well as replacing the spark plugs, various gaskets and seals, clutch, flywheel, and muffler, along with performing a leak-down test and a valve adjustment. An invoice for the work is pictured in the gallery.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle that is said to have been serviced concurrent with the engine rebuild. Many of the accompanying underbody photos were taken in 2018.

Ah yes, circa 1973, I used to date a gal from Corona, CA. I was a young Naval Officer type back then stationed in Long Beach and driving a '64 E-Type Coupe (265 HP and 245 Lb-Ft TQ). That 3.8 L would suck the doors off any Porsche that got near it.
