Thread: Spacer size with 7R?

  1. #21
I used a set of bolt on spacers Harvey sold me with my 7R's. I ran what "he suggested" (195/65 and 205/60) and was very pleased with the setup.
It transformed the car into a go-cart.

The car now has it's original 4.5 chrome steel wheels and isn't even close to how it was with the 6's and 7's.

It needs a set of Avon's like Tom F. (tfiv) used on his '67.

What spacers did you use? And 7R's front and rear?

Deep 6" "heart" front wheels, 7R rear with bolt on spacer like H&R and others sell. I believe they are 15mm.
    Harvey Weidman supplied these.

7R's with 15mm spacers would be an effective offset of 34mm. That seems like a good compromise, pulling the outside lip in almost 7/16" over normal 7" Fuchs. As expected, since Harvey knows what he is doing on this stuff.

After all the stories of folks doing "their own thing" after being told "what works" I left it in his hands to make the choices. No regrets.

    They look like Eibach spacers.
Did you use any spacers on the Deep 6J's on the front ?

Spacers are unnecessary for 6" stock wheels.

The 7R "bolt to bolt" spacers on rear are for suspension clearance only. Having the 4.5 chrome steel wheels and a set of 4.5 Fuchs Harvey refinished I wanted to have the ability to change back and forth without changing studs.
