^ AVS Intermediate remains one of my all-time favorite all-around street tires, up there (oddly) with the current Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3 (which, sadly, isn't available in the sizes we need...because it has a simple sidewall and sufficiently not alien tread pattern).

But, of all of the tires I've ever had on my old Porsche, my favorite was the A-008R TU or, to a lesser extent, the A-008P (which was a Porsche-approved tire and available on a number of Porsches). If we're dreaming, I'd want a 195/65 and 205/60 A-008R, as these were the best tires I've ever had under my 914's fenders—but I'd be very happy with any of the above...and would find them more appealing than any of the year-correct tires. Just a really nice nexus of simple sidewalls, "normal" tread patterns, good performance (1980s vs 1970s), and sizing that added a little while still fitting under early Porsche fenders.

But I'd be thrilled to see someone get Yokohama to re-pop the Porsche-approved A-008P in 195/65R15 and 215/60R15. There was a 185/70R15, too, but I feel like that size is more than covered. I have Avons in that size, but would prefer to go Yoko. I suspect I am not the only one...
