What tires are you using now Chuck?
For years I've been running TOYO RA1's
I started with 205x50's / 225x50's on my 7's and 8's
Then switched to 225x50's all round …. Been VERY happy with the tires and setup...
Can squeak out just under 7000 miles on the rears …
I put on about 6000 miles a year on the car, including 3 track days….
So new tires about every 11 months....
It seems to be work'n out....
Cheers

Chuck, I also run 7"s and 8"s with RS flares and am looking for new tires. I hadn't thought of running 225/50/15 in front. You're saying they fit and no problems ? If so, then that helps me a lot. The Kumho Ecsta AST only comes in 225/50/15, so if 225/50 works in front and you're happy with it, I think I will go that route.

It's not original or original looking, but Coker now offers the Dunlop Sport Classic in both 185/70VR15 and 215/60VR15. Coker doesn't mention it, but European sellers indicate these tires are available with Porsche's N0 mark.

No rubbing... except in extreme slow parking lot full lock maneuvers... then only slightly
I have a '73 with the front fender 'inner returns' rolled up at 10 to 2 almost flush with the fender arch... This was done way before I bought the car when anyone who was going to take their car to a club slalom or track day was 'rolling' their fenders...
I now have two other friends with the same setup with no problem … and they loved the results...
Mind you the TOYO RA1's have a pretty flat (vertical) sidewall... not sure about the Kumho's
However when I ran Kumho's years ago for the track they seemed to have the flattest (most vertical) sidewall of all....
- First pic is how the car sits today... 225x50x15 RA1's on 7s and 8's
- Second pic is the car 19 years ago on 205x60x15 / 215x60x15 Yokohama AVS Intermediates on 7s and 8s (I loved them!)
Cheers and hope this helps....
Chuck
