Thumbs up FS: @samba - Restored 1967 VW Karmann Ghia

My 1967 Signal Red Ghia is for sale, fully sorted and only 3500 miles on the restoration

It is an amazing car, but I can only have one fun car at a time...

    Truly a Red-Headed step child.

I don’t understand why they aren’t more popular. When restoration costs by themselves exceed market values something is amiss. Seems like everyone has an old story about a Bug or Ghia.

Someone please explain why these aren’t worth more.

Thank you Doug and thank you Frank!

I especially like the Red-Headed step child pun!

My first car was a 67 Bug and this has been a great 67 Ghia...and you're right everybody has a story with these...here's part of mine...

My grandfather bought a brand new last year model 1974 Ghia in bright red and I remember riding on the parcel shelf in the back, without a seat belt of course! And my other grandfather had a blue 1970 VW Single Cab bay window that he bought brand new. My grandfather who had the Ghia lived in Santa Clara and worked for the National Weather Service at SFO as a forecaster. And my other grandfather who had the Single Cab lived in Sunnyvale and worked at Lockheed and I found out years later that he worked on the SR-71 Blackbird program...

I have very distinct fond memories of riding with both of them in those cars, the feel, the sound and the smells of those Volkswagens and since we're sharing that is why I use the moniker "evokes"...

And my dad had countless VW's and Porsches that are also burned on my brain...The one that sticks out the most was a '59 356A Cab Silver over black on 14" Fuchs when I was 5 and 6 years old...that was my favorite! Always asking him to put the top down!

    Happy New Year to all!

    Grandpas rule.

Love hearing old VW stories. Thanks for sharing Rick.
When my dad worked at Morgenson Motors in the early 60's it was not uncommon for a shopper intending to buy a 356 leaving the dealership in a Ghia. (Of course that $1,000 that he saved ended up costing $100k later on. lol)

Can't imagine someone won't fall in love with yours. Best of luck.
