72 915 transmission - mating to engine lubrication question

The answer to my question is either so obvious - or stupid - that it is not mentioned in the four 'repair' manuals I've consulted. I need to know if any of the components (transmission splined shaft and its nose, collar or throw-out bearing requires any lubrication/grease before bringing the two together. I seem to recall a light application of grease here and there from previous builds (Porsche and non-Porsche), but want confirmation where the 'here and there' is if it is not a 'dry' fit. Thank you all.

    Steve,

Apply small amount of grease to the inside groove of release bearing (where it rides on the hub) and grease the pilot bearing.

    3.2, huh?

I dry moly spray (dry chain lube) the guide tube and inside of the release bearing, and lightly grease guide tube and release bearing, but fill the grove in the inside of the bearing like Frank says, as it is a reservoir for a long life. Pilot bearing should have grease also. G

Thank you guys for the prompt and helpful replies. Frank - yes, a 3.2 for the 72 'hot rod'. Now, if I can only figure out how to wire this critter with the DME ECU wiring harness to the existing electrics...not my strong suit

I thought the system was self-lubricating thanks to the leaky input shaft seal on the transmission?
