    BaT Description:

This 1971 Porsche 911T was acquired as a project by the seller in Bordentown, New Jersey in 2009. Since then, the paint was refinished, the interior was refurbished, the transmission was rebuilt, and the engine was overhauled. Areas still needing attention include the windshield trim, speedometer, transmission shift bushings, door strikers, radio, and air conditioning. Power comes from the numbers-matching 2.2-liter flat-six, which is mated to the original 5-speed manual transaxle. This 911T is now offered with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, refurbishment receipts, spare parts, and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.

The exterior was refinished in a shade of blue that the seller’s family preferred to the original Crystal Blue (73). Areas of body filler and rust were replaced with new metal by Jersey Devil Speed Shop in West Berlin, New Jersey, prior to the application of three coats of paint. A summary of the work is provided in the gallery below along with in-process restoration photos.

A ducktail spoiler and 911S-style front air dam have been added. The 14″ Fuchs wheels wear Kelly Charger GT tires with 2013 date codes. The seller notes that the trim for the windshield and the rear quarter windows requires finishing. New door shims and strikers are included with the sale but not installed.

The black interior has been refurbished with fixed-back bucket seats and a leather-rimmed 3-spoke Momo Prototipo steering wheel. A head unit and speakers from Custom Autosound are shown in the gallery but not installed. The map pockets in the door panels are missing, the horn needs a new relay, and the rear window defroster is not hooked up. The air conditioning system is missing its compressor and some plumbing. VDO instrumentation includes an 8,000-rpm tachometer and a 150-mph speedometer that is inoperable. The 5-digit odometer shows 15k miles, of which the seller has added approximately 300. Total chassis mileage is unknown.

The numbers-matching 2.2-liter flat-six received new seals, gaskets, oil tubes, valve covers, and more from Provost Motorsports in Bordentown, New Jersey in July 2018, and a technician there reported to the seller that the top end had been rebuilt at some point. New PMO carburetors were installed in place of the original Webers. The 5-speed manual transaxle was rebuilt by Cog’s Cogs in Cleveland, Georgia in April 2018 but is said to need new shift bushings to ease 2nd gear engagement. Receipts for the engine and transmission work are included.

Stamping *6118078* matches the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, confirming the engine as original. Transmission stamping 7710833 also matches the CoA.

I predict RNM. I don't see that car getting bid to $50k+, and all prior indications are that the seller is looking to cash out. At least he used honest pictures, the problems are easy to see.
