    Vintage travel trailers

The boat threads reminded me that some of us have a love affair with vintage travel trailers.

    Please post pics!

In the meantime if anyone has a lead on a Pierce Arrow Travelodge or Curtiss Aerocar I'm a buyer.

1958 Auckland Caravan Company New Zealand.

Never really had much sympathy for people lugging these around the country. Needs some work but is all original inside and out.

    Haul,
Really liken that; especially the original interior. I know little about Euro trailers except that it seems they went to fiberglass a lot sooner than yanks did. I do know the Brits build some lovely horse carriages. We modeled the interior of our toterhome in all cherry after seeing one.

    Mark, Love it!
    Yours?

    Pics of interior?

    frank,
it´ s a fully alloy sandwich construction, lightweight, self carrying frameless construction with 390kg,
same ‚hahn’ drehstabfederung-torsion bar, as the porsch‘ do have,
    axle with brakes.
the kitchen part and the wardrobe are the fixed points stabilizing the complete unit.

    ....much fun...

Yes Frank, I saw it on my birthday at a compliance Government testing shop. I asked the bloke if he wanted to sell and the deal was done with a handshake on the spot.I towed it up to my land up North (150 miles) a week ago. All Ali shell, steel chassis and solid New Zealand native timber floors.
She weighs heaps but behaved better than expected under tow.
The inside has been restored to a 80% level and is still all original.
Was in such a rush to get it up and parked that this is the only photo i have (more for insurance purposes).
Its 'old school' runs on 12 V but has the 240V as well. The opening celestial windows are what got me, as well as ALL windows are able to be opened awning style. Will take some better pics early next month.
Sent you an email as well regarding something that may be what your after.
Nothing better than a holiday home that you can move to a different out look at any time.
    Happy campers make happy people.
Love the originality of you topic posts to date this year
