    Water on Floor Pans ‘67S

Hi Everyone, This weekend I test drove a ‘67S in the rain. When we came back from the test drive I noticed a decent amount of water under the front carpets on the floor pans. This particular car was fully resto’d in 2014. Is this typical? Thanks

subscribed. I would think not. I'd find source of leak before buying just to make sure.

Floor pans have been replaced. Have double indents where there should only be one. Check the perimeter where the new pans were welded in. Also did they fill the small holes that run down the center of the pan.

Certainly not typical. After you remove the carpets, I'd take a light (bright as you have) and place it on the ground under the floor and look for pin holes or areas that were not sealed properly. Also check under the dash for water. The seal around the windshield could be a source of infiltration as well. These issues are usually easy to track down. Good luck

Could be coming from anywhere... Up on a hoist and out with a hose. Have someone in the car looking. Start watering from the bottom. If no water from the pan being seen lower the car and start spraying from the bottom up working slowly around the car finishing at the roof. Im sure it wont be hard to find but this is a good "heads up" to not always test drive a car only when it is sunny and dry.

Thanks everyone for your input and help. I agree the garden house should figure out where the leak is. Thanks again!

If it has a sunroof, then check the drains.

Could it come in through the area around the pedal cluster?

Trunk seal and windshield seal are the most likely culprit. Any water in the trunk?

I think you might have better luck with the bright light method, as the water may take some time to work it's way through the car.
