At risk of starting another religious war: "best" wax for an early (65 - 73) 911?

Asking a motorhead what the "best" oil is will garner almost as many opinions as there are oils, and possibly lead to heated argument. A quick search here for "wax" comes up empty, so I'm going to risk stirring the pot by asking the same question about car wax. Without naming the brand, I used a well-known, heavily promoted, and highly touted "classic car" liquid wax product for the first time, today. Frankly, I was underwhelmed. It went on easily enough and left a faintly visible residue. I let it dry for the recommended 20 - 30 minutes before wiping off. Wiped off fine, but the resulting shine, while OK, just didn't seem to pop as I expected it would. Frankly, I thought it was inferior to what I've consistently gotten from my trusty old Meguiar's GoldClass Carnuba Plus Paste Wax, that I've had for 10+ years. I'm no concours fanatic, but I've polished my fair share of cars so I think I'm being objective. Paint on this car is recent and presents really nice without any easily discernable defects.

So what product do folks here prefer? I'm not shooting for Monterey or Porsche Parade, but I'd like to feel good about the occasional Cars and Coffee. TIA.

    Regards,

    - MR

Just for easy availability I use a clay bar then use Griots wax then final finish. Since they were bought out by Meguiars probably about the same quality either one.
The clay bar and an orbital polisher make a bigger difference than the wax. Again I don't do concours so take it for what it's worth.

    Hi David:

Thanks for the response/feedback. Unfortunately, the brand you mention is the one that underwhelmed me. Specifically, their "Best in Show". I've used their clay bar with some success on my DD Subaru.

    Regards,
