if that quarter panel is an old dansk part you most likely have to take off the taillight surrounding and weld it in again in the correct position.

Franz, thanks for the picture and comments.
The fenders and sills are not factory parts.
I will have a talk with the body guy, whether to scrap them (a several thousand $ mistake), or make them work, which is financially more reasonable. Costly Lesson…

no need to scrap the q-panels...usually it works this way
open the spotwelds(red) cut along the green line and adjust the lenght (blue) accordingly.
or take the piece from the old q-panel

    Thank you again

Additional pictures of the rear fender to bumper line. The bumper is the original to the car, the fender is not. Something is wrong, but I don't know where it is right, where it is not. I don't like how the lip of the bumper crosses the one under the rear light. Further help welcome.

even if it does not line up perfectly you can play a bit with the the rubber strip that goes between will fender and bumper..it`s wide enough to cheat a bit.
not a big fan of telediagnosis but i would worry more about this line here...

i think pushing in the direction of the arrow could help...
by doing so the situation at the front half of the panel(behind the door) will be effected(not welded in yet i hope)
    dansk q-panels sometimes press-fit...

your body guy should not be afraid to remove and reposition the part below the light...

installed two dansk q-panels in my life(and watched several fellows messing around with that crap) on one i also had to remove the lock post to get it lined up with the original door...DANSK--no thanks

Doesn't look like much, but now I have functional seat rails. 2 hours with saw and file.

    Today's progress:
-Left side longitudinal positionned and welded, except for the frontmost edge, where the wheelwell corner will be changed. The templates I made for the seat bases came in handy.
-Rear alloy lid bolted on. Fit is terrible on the left upper corner, about 8mm too low, and the lid's curve does not match the shell. I'll bring the original steel lid along, to have some comparison points.
-I took templates of the original fender lower edges at the bumper seal, to compare with the repro ones. Starts to make sense, we know where to adjust.
