    back lamps, primer

Hi, I'm cleaning the lights on the back door. I have not removed any primers and I was wondering if it would be right to paint them in black.

Don't paint them, the metal body acts as ground for the lights to work.

If the contacts of the painting are protected, would it not work? All the plate of the lamp makes polo but ending in a point. The other pole is the contact with the bulb. If I protect these two places and paint what else should not work? Excuse my ignorance with this issue! I have been observing how they work and it is quite simple .. What method do you recommend to protect it then? Greetings and many thanks!

At the very least, painting them black (even after taping the contacts) would probably reduce the light output. Original background was bright (silver) zinc or cadmium to reflect the light outward.

[/ QUOTE]

that information is quite valuable to me and to this step! I understand that in ours "there was" a coating that has been affected over time! Any post with a "repair" of these lights? Greetings and thanks again!

I just restored a set of these. I masked the contact point and painted them with Aluminum paint

Thank you ! I think that's the key to letting it work, I'll have to get closer to buying some paint! have you got any pictures of how your work is going? Regards!
