Part of the reason this car did so well at BJ was the fact that it was the ONLY early 911 that was offered during the entire event. It was kind of a hodge podge of parts. I was shocked at the high sale price.

    Soooo/then . . . . . . . how 'bout resto-modding a Mercedes? . . .

    . . . or a Ferrari? . . .

    . . . or a Bugatti? . . .

    . . . or a Duesenberg?

People with spendable cash-=-and getting younger in age. They want the classic look and the modern touches. Not so interested in date codes and micro issues. I dont care about Mercedes and the rest and they appeal to another type.
If you dont think tastes change ask any antique dealer. Most have more dead inventory gathering dust than salable.

    . . . well --- judging by this shot? . . . 'younger' than what? . . .

    . . . dead?

'Cause I see an awful LOTTA grey/balding heads in this crowd

    Dude -- seriously . . . I mean, just check-out those hairlines!

My sense is that these Auction Houses know exactly who their customers are, do their homework, and stock accordingly

Way-WAY-WAY too much money to be made to guess

My Take = 'Seeking vehicle values' is not 'buying' . . .

    . . . = Hagerty, schmagerty

    'Sides --- I'm more curious what they're getting quotes on . . . THAT's the money

    Wow --- really? . . .

    . . . shocking

But --- does being the 'largest group' = the 'biggest spenders'?

    Short Version . . .

    . . . who has The Money?

    And who bought this?

The Supra apparently went to a Toyota dealership in Chicago for display purposes I assume
