Thread: Front (Amco) bumper bar and rear (factory) nudge bar

  1. #11
I think the term used most often for the rear bar is a “nudge bar”. These give a much cleaner look than the Amco bars, and this one is very reasonably priced in my option. GLWTS

The addition of a nudge bar and a repainted muffler really transformed the rear view of my car. It takes a little work to mount them, but it is well worth it. The rubber grommets are easily attainable and fit well. Front bumperette/guard pads work well for the application on the rear because they are shorter. I had to drill a hole in each bumperette on the rear to mount the bar, which was easily done on a drill press. *note: it is important to mark your holes while the bumperettes are mounted. Do not assume that the bar will lie directly in the center. BTW, the bar has to be mounted before mounting the bumperettes. I probably had 2-3 hours in the modification and mounting.

Great tips. Well worth the effort. I thought this would have been snapped up by now. Going back into storage after tomorrow, I have to get back to Fla for work.
