Open air cleaners on 1969 911S MFI-

As I near installation of my reconditioned MFI on my 69S I've hit a problem.

I've been running Webers as installed by the PO many years ago.

I also replaced the original 'can' air cleaner with a pair of light aluminum K&N filters that use springs to hold a very light aluminum lid on top.

The sound is awesome- WOT is heavenly and yet cruise is quiet-
I've vented the oil tank with a clear hose with a golfball sized piece of bronze wool to keep debris out- The bronze color has remained after years and there is no need for an oil catch can- It works well except for a slight odor of PORSCHE with windows up and heat on full...

Being able to SEE and get to the entire top of the engine and all its parts without screwing around with the big air cleaner tank, its cold start enrichment line, the oil tank breather and blow-by oil drain tube is fantastic.

I mounted a Mercedes Benz transmission oil plug to replace and eliminate the cold start enrichment solenoid on the filter console.
The enrichment squirters are used only below zero fahrenheit on the 69S and I don't use the car in those conditions, so now that Rube Goldberg fire hazard is gone.

Starting the '69S cold will be easy since the one year only basic enrichment is an additional solenoid above the stop solenoid that's purpose is to bump the MFI mixture rack to full rich for cold start.

My hope was to use these air cleaners with the MFI and the fit is perfect-
I cut new gaskets and fitted the open air filter bases and velocity stacks when I realized-

The open air cleaner's BASE blocks the linkage to the overrun fuel cutoff microswitch!!!!!

Who has seen little individual Velocity Stack filters or adapted linkage to trigger another over-run fuel cutoff switch or another elegant solution????

Can I drive without the over-run fuel-cutoff switch and modulate the throttle without backfire?

Yes, you can drive without the over run switch working!! Although mine is totally stock the relay for the switch hasn't been operable for 40 years. Occasionally I'll get a soft 'fart' when on a long decel over run, certainly not what I'd call backfires. And that is with a sport muffler.
