    Best new front windscreen

    Hello

I need to buy a couple front windshields for a 1970 911 Coupe and a Targa. Hoping that somebody has went thru this recently and can me so info about best fit. There is a Sigla made in England front windscreen that is being sold, anybody had any experience installing it? Unless I am told otherwise I will pass on all glass made in China, I have been told it is thinner.

Windshield seal will be from the Porsche Dealer.

Are there some areas that I should put some DumDum body sealer around the windshield frame to achieve better a better seal against wind and water intrusion? What is the best option for some black pliable body sealer?

    Truly appreciate the help.

I only buy them from Stoddard now, fit seems to be consistant and correct. And has Sigla brand on glass. I put a strip of dum-dum in both front lower corners. Correctly fitting the trim makes a big difference in install.

I've been happy with the Sigla-branded version of this windshield from SM:

So are the Stoddard vs. Sierra Madre versions of the Sigla-branded windshield one in the same provided by the same supplier?

I do not know for a fact, but given the low market volume of such an item I can't imagine that more than one supplier exists.

I got mine from this manufacturer, they offer the original logos. I would imagine they are the source for most of the aftermarket replacements.

I went through this exercise recently. Sigla is now owned by Pilkington glass. They can make a screen to order with the Sigla logo but it is a black logo like that used on modern glass rather than an acid etched type of old. It also is quite costly in the UK since it is made to order. I imagine the ones sold by Stoddard and SM are the same but they have bought them in a batch. Sekurit also make Porsche windscreen glass and is significantly cheaper since it is not made to order. I went for the latter but it is yet to be fitted so cannot comment on fit but will report back once in.
