D&D TRANSPORT , 916-710-4026, Ask for Daniel, the owner...family run, newer truck, very reasonable, very responsible. They've taken both my car and my son's car back and forth between Pennsylvania and California, most recently for RRVI, and before that for Targa California.

Thanks to all the suggestions so far. To date, still looking, nothing has panned out.

Serge, Daniel at D&D said he did cross-country only, coming north to Eugene was not somewhere he could accommodate.

Scott, Passport has me on their board, but indicated that this route would probably take 6-8 weeks to fill a truck, maybe more.

DanielJ - Randy retired 2 years ago. Fred may have an option for me, but 6 weeks out. And that is only a possibility, not a for sure slot.

There are 2 problems with what I need. One is that most carriers like to travel the main interstates either on east-west routes, or north-south routes. This load needs both, west on I-40 and then north on I-5. Hard to fill a trailer for that.

The other issue is the time of year. Most drivers don't want to go anywhere that they might run into inclement weather, especially snow or ice. And this route has several points where weather is possible. So that makes them shun my request as well.

I haven't given up yet, but trying to get this arranged has been more than a little discouraging.

    Arne,

Just saw this thread, I've been a little absent from here lately. Hopefully you have already been taken care of. If not, let me know. I just picked up a car trailer (not enclosed) and if it can be of use to you, you are welcome to use/borrow it if need be. It's it in great shape and tows very nice, I've already used twice in the last few weeks. PM me if it can help you.

Thanks, Peter. It's all handled now, other than the weather here for delivery. Here's a pic from my other thread.

Pickup was on Tuesday, 1 day later than expected. But delivery is now supposed to be sometime tomorrow!! And me with the remains of a 22" dump of snow a couple days ago. Would have been all melted off by next week. Scrambling a bit to prepare now...
