Absolutely! And with today's "just-in-time" inventory system, what would make anybody think the same practice is not still true? They are building cars, not collectibles.

I just wanted to see if there were any factory installed rear wipers prior to the 1967 MY. A few were "subsequently installed" as per the documents I have see in earlier threads. However I have no COA or Kardex or even a note in my database of any earlier cars that came factory equipped. If there are any 911s whose VIN is known, and which conclusively came with this option then I would like to know. It must be very rare.

"Obsessed" might be a strong word Eric; more like stupid.

Just doing my due diligence. Like many, I'm bound by current standards. If resale was not of paramount importance I would probably be doing things much differently.

    Joris,
Just so we're clear; what measurements are you looking for? Am I understanding correctly that you're trying to install the wiper mech on a lid that didn't come on the car originally?

@Frank, what I am looking for is measurements of the bracket shown in the above accessory brochure. I have all the rest of the parts ready and the decklid modified but would like some good pictures of the bracket/cover piece the factory used so that I can fabricate some

@Blucille, thanks for the kind offer, I will end you a PM

@Jon, yes, and thanks again for pointing out the service bulletin. Just need to locate the bracket/cover as mentioned above so that I can fabricate some and finish my installation

Joris, I meant that the originality & accuracy of the 66 museum car has been discussed a few times.
