    75 Carrera Canada Market Details

Purchased a 75 Carrera Targa Canadian Market, really nice summer house car, and worth keeping 50k miles bone dry laser straight etc. A few details trying to solve for. COA says "Ornamental Painting Black" which I assumed was a Canadian way of saying Carrera Script Black, but now that I have the car, I am 90% sure the script is painted on not a decal based on the edge at the door and the fact that it's completely flush no edge can be felt or seen, so is it really painted on per factory? Second the car did not come with a folding top, its a fixed rigid unit and the black looks a little too shiny, anyone know where to find the "right" black for this unit, or am I wrong and it's just missing the correct folding top? I thought that was the case but I do see folding tops listed as an option on other 75 Carrera COA's, and not mine. Lastly, someone cut in speakers into those unique navy blue/black door panels, and that material is the one with tiny dimples, kind of like elephant skin. Do they reproduce it accurately? Any advice there is much appreciated.

It’s unfortunate the COAs don’t provide the options codes as that would provide insight on the Ornamental Painting Black. The Carrera decal was standard so I don’t believe that would be listed as an option. Perhaps it did in fact have some custom black paint or pin striping but difficult to know without the factory option code.

As far as the door panels, if they are original, I would not replace them unless someone hacked out the panels with 6 x 9 speakers or worse. There are many ’74/75 911s, Carreras, and Turbos where a foolish previous owner cut out holes to install door speakers but I would never replace original vinyl or leather for this minor of a modification. I installed factory 1976 speaker covers and left the original leather on door panels on my 1975 Turbo since a previous owner installed door speakers. They are only original once and you will never match the factory vinyl or leather.
