Jan Koum was on a recent episode of Spike's Car Radio with Spike Feresten. I had never heard of Mr. Koum in the Porsche context before either, but he was a good listen and is a true enthusiast (with a sh*t-ton of money). Most of the cars he was selling were duplicates of cars he already has and liked better. He realized he couldn't keep two of everything.

Interesting that Bill's comment is the collection got killed - from my impression, prices at Amelia Island were a little soft across the board. The VW Thing was the only one that hit it out of the park (j/k).

Yeah, I think the sale of the Koum cars were solid if perhaps unspectacular. Don't think he got "killed" by any stretch of the imagination.

Seemed like the the 991 GT2 RS sold close to sticker, perhaps that party is over. The local dealer was asking 100K over. Not sure if it was part of the Jan collection.

I think it was a mistake to sell them one after another... I'm not sure the 'Jan Koum' tag was of sufficient interest to warrant anything special... the cars, whilst good, were not spectacular or special (I know it's relative)... and overall the market does appear to be quite soft...
Also, I guess when you're worth billions, losing the odd couple of hundred grand isn't that big a deal...
