    901/13 input shaft failure - parts required

    Not a great day on the tools, please avert your eyes if transmission destruction offends...

    Looking for good used:

    901 input shaft with "F" gear(s) - a later, 14mm strengthened one please!

    And "A" gear(s);

    Reverse etc looks fine, but the 1st gear that snapped off is trashed, just in case someone has an orphan out there;

    and anything else NLA I may need to fix, like the washer under the castellated nut i think? Suggestions are welcome.

    I have sourced a nose (tail?) piece locally.

    Shipping is to New Zealand, or as an alternative Oregon 97203

    Thanks in advance

    Nathan, if it helps your search, the input shaft and 2nd gear from any 914/4 transmission can be used as a replacement. The ratio is the same, and all 914 shafts are M14.

    I bought a parts lot to fix my gearbox, which included an aluminium transmission case,

    It is a complete case, but with no internals apart from some output stubs/plates.

    Just in case the car is still alive somewhere, it is a 902/01 transmission, serial number 223435, 1965 casting date.

    I have someone local (southern hemisphere at least!) that is keen on the case, but it is not matching numbers for them obviously.

    Thanks

    If you are still looking I have a three good input shafts and one I see is marked "F" and as far as I can tell it looks to be in very good condition. Also if you want an input shaft for a more powerful application I have a used input shaft from a 904 (Carrera GTS). It does not have the welded 1st gear. It came to me with a separate 15:36 "C" second gear set.

    If interested PM me with your email for details

    TIA

    Thank you Henry, but the transmission is all fixed and installed back in the car.

    Can you explain the differences between the 904 vs 901 input shaft please? (apart from the non-fixed 2nd gear)

    I was not aware they were any stronger, If i had know i would have installed one when I had the opportunity....
