You will love an early 911 but I get that you want more HP and I agree with that big time. 70-72 are my favorite as well. So, the answer is get one with a hot rod engine and short gears and you'll be very very happy! But, for this this you'll have to pay up for this as building a proper 911 engine cost a lot of money. There's really no deals to be had anymore. Once you get to and over 215HP where the RS engine came in at then it gets real fun.
72S, 72T now ST
Hm . . .

Didn't see this particular car, myself, but --- selling price = a biiiiiiiit light . . . like, maybe an engine-build's-worth?
. . . depends on your budget, I suppose
..
Hopping up motors by obtaining drivetrain parts for next to nothing used to be central to hotrodding. Most of that business went out the window in the boom markets of 80's and 90's. For reasons hard to explain, 911 motors won't tolerate such an approach.

Interesting. So there is not larger cylinder sleeves, you cannot up the compression, or change any cams. Exhaust mods will work against it? Larger injectors all a waste?
Maybe not a waste, but most in the know will tell you it's not particularly brilliant to change something, or a few things, in hopes of doing much. One analogy would be a 'cascade' effect...where as soon as you consider one component, you must also take in the others, and so on, in order to have a balanced combination. Sourcing an engine and a gearbox first would seem to work in your favor, yet plenty of folks suggest you find a hotrod already done by someone else, to go easier on the wallet.
A 928..even one that's been swapped can be a good performer, but you don't have an iconic shape..it's sort of worthless next to a 911, and that's the reality of it. They don't handle nearly as well, and tip over 3000 lbs.
Interesting car. Makes you think there may be a dip in the market for the 911, like stated earlier. I wonder if it would have fetched a lot more in silver or black?
Any üpdate?
