    what would be the alternative to a Mark 10?

    For period correctness a Sydmur Fireball
    or an original Permatune (good luck finding either)

    Current - MSD 6AL or 6AL2 MSD are making them in black now. Red still available too.

    So does this mean my 1970 911S has a Delta Mark 10 for the CD ignition from the factory? Chris

    No, but it means a Mark 10 could have been dealer installed later.

    No. Someone replaced the original box with a Delta. Sort of like a Permatune. Cheaper and worked fine. The Bruce Jennings 67S had a "vintage" Permatune in it.

    Tom's service department circular from the previous page confirms that the Delta Mark Ten was promoted by POA in the late 60s, and stocked for distribution to US service departments.
