    Tunnel Variations and adaptability?

    Guys see photos ...
My 71 tunnel was rusted beyond salvage so solid donor is getting ready to install weld etc.
Photo 1 is from my 71 and Photo 2 is different in layout as follows..
    - larger shift rod opening
    - oval shaped speedo opening
    - emergency brake and heater control re stacked and not side by side
    - fuel lines are slightly different

So what year/s are the donor tunnel from ?
    And thoughts on adaptability?

Happy to make modifications to the donor using original 71 components but would rather not
    Making more complicated than necessary.

    Thanks for input
    Frank

I believe the top one is for a 901 due to the lip for the trans shift boot on the back of tunnel. The bottom one is for the 915 style shift boot that goes thru opening and fits on lip in tunnel. To further delineate the top should be for a 70-71 car since it has the tubes for the charcoal cannister system.

    Thanks for info.....
I am also attaching photo of my 73.5 with the 915 style tunnel components it also has the tubes for the lines to carbon filter in trunk. Posts have stated the 915 used from 72-86.

Just find it unusual that the emergency brake, heater , speedo cables are respostioned after 71 starting in 72
Would like to know more about why the layout change.

Guess I will plan to keep the 915 tunnel as is .....unless there are reasons to change when using 901 trans?

What year is the replacement tunnel ? It looks like it may have a tube for the brake booster vacuum line , could be used for one charcoal canister line ?

Not sure the year the donor tunnel ......my count of left side tubes ( not including the parking brake ,heat , accerlator and clutch ) there would be 4 tubes available....
Attached is a 70S tunnel .......2 are fuel supply and return

    Thanks again for input
