    You're right; original only once.

What makes you think these are original?

I’m completely confused on Pelican description. OP states that he purchased with “bad original upholstery”.

In any event Michael was correct; the bolsters should be perforated.

Wouldn't the double lockers have the seat belt mounted to the chassis?

    Hi Frank and others,

So now I am confused too....
I do not try to fool anyone or sell bad stuff on PP or here.

Maybe I am not as knowledgeable as the others around here, however it is the story I already put on PP.
I strongly believe that the upholstery set that I found stored in a carton box is originally. (See story below)
It had exactly the same build up from materials below the leatherette and basket weave.
Also the foam elastic netting and bands are original and still elastic.
(I can sent pics it that would help the experts to determine if they are original.)
There was/is also no sign whatsoever that the Recaro badge(aftermarket, right) was removed from the backrest.

    Here is the whole story:
I bought this set a few years ago in an original bad upholstery state. There was no Recaro badge on so in MHO NOT aftermarket. My plan was to get them restored and put them in my 911T ’69. As time went by I found in The Netherlands a better set and put those in my car as my car was ready after 20 years of restoration and wanted to drive it.

As I personally like the patina of a car/interior I was extremely lucky to find someone in the UK that had a complete original Sport seat upholstery set in a carton box stored for over 40 something years(story was particular guy wanted to have different color).

This set was except one bolster perfect and only needed to be cleaned. This one bolster has
been repaired/replaced with old material that was original too and therefore had exactly the same grain.
Only the head rests I bought later to make the seats ‘complete’.
Meanwhile I found a very nice set of double lockers, as this set is a single and double locker one as can be seen on the pics. I will picture these when I picked them up.
That is the whole story, there are no secrets! People can call me (sent me PM) or sent someone they know/thrust in the Netherlands/Germany to inspect the seats.

Both consoles are double locker, you can tell that by the seat belt mount but one is missing the controlling levers.

I have seen several sets of late single lockers where the pivot pin exists in the base but no levers in place and no ears for the seat belt mount

Double lockers would never have had basketweave either.

David..... double lockers consoles had the "ears" for the seat belt mounting.

These seats are mutts at best and way overpriced. There; I said it.

Someone gave you terrible advice. You should have sold them as clapped out cores and not re-upholstered them or restored the frames.

    Best of luck.
