    Engine: 911523 901/05 or 901/06

    Hallo experts,

my car does not have the original engine. Kardex shows the original number is 911523. Is it right that this is an aluminium engine type 901/06?

Or could it also be a 901/05?
I want to choose the right period correct engine.

    Thank you for your help.

    Kind regards.

    I believe it should be 901/05 for a 1967 911 Targa...

Thank you Peter, but now Dr. B. Johnson writes it is a 06 and you and a friend say it is a 05.

This doesn´t make it easier. Someone else who has a list of engine numbers, perhaps Dave?

    Kind regards.

Bernd, the factory Technical Specifications booklet for your model year range is a good place to start.
I don't know if you saw the chart above your post, because you posted one minute after I did.
