Don't let a little bad luck put you off. If you don't drive it, what's the point of having it?

Me too. Retired with few responsibilities, the only reason I ever drive my other car, a truck, is when the car is in lol the body shop lol. (Or having preventative maintenance done). It’s ridiculous. I miss this car when it’s not available. I still sit in it in my garage, going nowhere. 10:30 at night, I’m bored to tears and tv makes me even more morose lol. So, 3 or 4 nights a week, that’s when I love to drive my circuit. No traffic. Sleep with a clear head.

Thanks Boyd. That’s always been my attitude. (And still is). Don’t have the money to have stuff like this sitting around without using it. (If I were movie star rich, who knows. Might would have a warehouse full lol)

It’s amazing how it happened. There was no metal to metal contact apparently. Just the headlamp and front bumper rub strip were hit. Yet, the fender is deformed. It could have been so much worse. The sound, the speed of her car...I’d have thought more damage. (fwiw). It’ll need a bumper, trim strip, left fender and head light (it didn’t even damage the headlight assy).

It’ll need two headlights (to make them match). And another bumper possibly.

One thing I have noticed. Buying parts off of one car to replace parts on another car...they don’t always fit as well. I replaced my rear bumperettes for another set with better chrome. The fit is such, the old ones look better, imo.

The bumper strip is what took the hit and pushed the bumper back. The headlight and trim were just collateral damage.

All in all, not that difficult a fix, I don’t think.

It looks re- pairable no replacement s necessary....just the light!.........cliff
By the way, there was/is a PORSCHE author that says: loosely, if you own a rare, few made car, then maybe you would not drive it. All other models can be driven, there would several in museums already, so , enjoy daily. Unless of course you are into the $$$ it may someday bring, un- like the ones that are not in the hobby for the money! Though, things have changed over the years that may over ride the authors previous observations!
Just got back from a trip to the gym & Walgreens........912........nice 66 you have pictured. Was the hood fender lines messed with in the bump?

No. The fender was pushed in and back at the bumper (no crease or crimp there though). The crimp occurred at the top of the wheel arch. No other damage. I’d like to keep the parts that are on it, on it. Bondo kept to an absolute minimum. The bumper is definitely salvage able. Even the headlight bucket was undamaged.

I don’t know exactly how to fix cars like this Cliff.

The shop that fixed the paint is good...(with paint). Shops in my area that care about metal are scarce.

I’m not exactly sure where to go with it. But that fender is undamaged all the way around the radius of it’s top line.

I wonder....could that finder be taken off and sent out? (In that first pic, you’d never know there’s damage)
