    9113601048 . . .

    . . . now, at PCARMarket . . .

'. . . We are delighted to offer this solid and very original 1973 911 Carrera RS for auction. This RS started life in Switzerland and was one of only 42 examples ever produced in Bahia Red. The original owner was the steward of the car for nearly 16 years until being sold to a collector from London. After just 2 years of ownership, the car was purchased by Mark Pullicino Classics, also in London. At that time, the car had traveled 59,997km. A formal inspection indicated the car was in remarkable original condition. Pullicino enjoyed the car for several months putting on approximately 5,000 kilometers in the Spring of 1991. Soon after, the car found a long-term English owner. Mr. Leston B. Nay purchased the car with 65,600 km / 40,761 miles and enjoyed it for next 28 years. Mr. Nay subsequently relocated to Waltham, Massachusetts in the USA. The legal importation was carried out by Wallace Testing Laboratories and took several years. NTHSA approval was finally issued to Wallace Labs on April 11th, 1994 at which point the car was finally delivered to Nay in Massachusetts. It would remain with Nay through his move to Scottsdale, AZ.

Today, the car is stated to be very solid and well sorted with the seller labeling the RS as “an extremely high-level driver”. Although the car has had paint work at various points in its life, the seller states that roughly 30% of the paint is original. When the car arrived to the US from London, Nay had the front fender and left-hand door skin replaced and painted by West Foreign Auto Body of Natick, MA. This also required the application of new OEM black Carrera script. An inspection at the time found the internal structural parts to be in good condition. The seller states that the Carrera RS is currently in excellent condition with consistent color matching and no flaws to report.

The interior is stated to be in excellent condition and as seen in the gallery photos, presents very nicely. Brand new leather with courdaroy inserts sport seats were installed 2 weeks ago in replacement of the stock comfort seats. All electronics are in working order, including the factory sunroof.

The seller reports the original numbers-matching engine to be in excellent operating condition. When Nay got the car to MA, he had a new clutch installed, along with modern oil-fed Carrera-type chain tensioners, new heat exchangers, and a new muffler. In 2012, the owner commissioned a full engine overhaul by European Performance Engineering, in Natick, MA. All services and safety checks are current. The fuel injection system, and high-pressure pump have recently been serviced. This RS is in true turnkey condition and has even received a recent fluid and filter service.
