Maybe they uncovered it in a future episode of the “Curse of Oak Island”? It takes a while to get those things sorted.

    Cheers,

That would be great.... but for the fact I don't have TV. Maybe someone will tell me how it went.
Maybe in a while it will end up on the net.

OK I'll fess up about the car. When my dad bought the car he was told it was being set up for racing.Everybody has a 'story'. Then we went for a ride. If it wasn't set up for racing it's a taste radical for a street car. Steering is 2 turns lock to lock.
VERY stiff suspension. Alum. flywheel. Probably a big bore kit and pain in the butt cams. Timing: 15degreesBTDC@1100 idle. At 12 it wants to fire through the carbs. Other than a little lower than stock it looks, inside and out, like showroom stock. It's a sleeper and a half! At 3000 rpm you will foul the plugs in 5 or 10 miles,3500 is about as low as it will run fairly well. At 4000 the overlap starts to work and it pulls HARD.60 to 90 in 3rd about 5 seconds or a little less. Of course all this gets you about 10 mpg.

Don't have a clue. The car was bought as a my67. The pink slip confirms it, how and why I don't know. The car was the most expensive car we looked at and the nicest. In 1973 my dad paid $4400 for the car. The fact he got 'taken' was a big deal to me but not for my dad,he loved the car.In the mid 70s early 911s were no big deal and we're not until the last 10 years or so. There was no pressing reason to expend a lot of time and energy looking into just exactly what was done to the car. It would seem things have changed. I just found out 4 or 5 months ago that the car was worth a lot more than the last time I checked. It was worth about 25k last time I looked into it. I am not full of it the is pretty much as described. The Porsche dealer service manager said he would like to know what in the engine. He told my dad two things, it can't be a 2 litre and Porsche didn't make those cams. I know what I know about the car.

Got the Kardex. The only real good news is that the engine number matches the vin. Other than that it was Pandora's box.
    First owner was a
    'Count' as in nobility.
    Been a little tough to
    get any response.
Second, possible owner is not much better. Google Roland Berger Porsche and see what you get. First
    owner was Count
Guido Sassoli de Bianchi. I finally got to the car today. It
    still looks great(read
GREAT). Now the downside. Forget about the 40k miles on the car as I had no way of knowing the car was in Europe for an unknown amount of time.Guessing maybe 80k+ miles, still not bad for a 65. Not original color or seat upholstery(6 pleat front seats with headrests) but the seats including the headrests look like others from that period. Anyone know the Count or the Sassoli de Bianchi branch he is from? How about Roland Berger? I am still looking at the car. 7 hour drive I am a bit tired. Getting old sucks! Can't see, crawling around on the floor and then getting back up again are very different things.
Those pepita inserts look(imo) funky. Straight black looks better. Especially when someone did such a nice job painting it silver. Pictures to come.

LScottB88 and I have exchanged a few emails and he has asked me to post these pictures of the car. Very nice guy from the emails that we exchanged. I have never seen the car nor did I take the pictures, but looks like it is the real deal!
