Feel compelled to comment. Things getting slightly out of hand. I enjoy trying to push Frank's button but a very difficult task. Frank is usually trying for humor. Most of the time it works. Think this went downhill with the following response " It's called a 'smartphone' and photovoltaic panels to charge aforementioned phone." In the real world that translates to "its a smartphone stupid'" Probably not intended that way but as a retired lawyer and a veteran of two or three bar fights, a few words can bring about a catastrophic result. I welcome everybody to this forum as it has answered a lot of questions and sparked some new ones. Perhaps Frank can be appointed web humorist and his post can contain a warning "acerbic wit". Thanks for allowing my two cents. Right now I am going to go back to thinking about how to politicize this thread. That seems to be my one Frank "button".

You might be thinking about it too hard, I've heard he doesn't like being called Frunk.

There’s no one on here that’s a greater fan of locker room banter than me. I’ve run a number of forums in my day and it can be difficult to maintain decorum (I know, I know, that’s a hopelessly old fashioned term). I’m a big fan of the old Hawaiian culture and I always insisted that “we keep it Aloha” which seemed to resonate with most.

I think Chuck does a great job with this forum. I would imagine many, if not most, are Type A high achievers. By definition assertive and aggressive. Chuck does a good job keeping things civil.

The problem with locker room talk on the internet is that it’s one dimensional. There’s no body language, no facial expressions to see how things are going and if they’re going too far.

I really do value this community. It’s added a lot to my life over the past many years, including a business opportunity. My sense is that it might be vulnerable to fray if a big decline in the value of the cars occurs. If it does, let’s ride it all the way back to the shade tree DIY days.

    Cheers,
    John
