Have color code from 1969, how to translate to new paint systems?

From what I can see, the color code stamped on the tin plate is 51-08907-H. The guy at the paint shop thinks it is a Standox paint number, but could not find it on his computer. Is it possible to translate to a modern system? The color is called Olive Green.

    Regards,
    Einar Irgens

Einar, 51-08907-H is not a code that I am familiar with, and I have been studying the codes for 20 years. Can you get a photograph of the paint badge and also provide me with the VIN of the car. This sounds very interesting. The H is for Herberts which created the Standox line of paints. The 51 should be related to the temperature for curing. However the 5 digits in the middle are very strange. Usually a 5 digit code there is for Lesonal (L) not H. I would like to document this unusual code. Do you have a CoA or the Kardex; I can help get the Kardex if wanted? Dave

    Einar,

    I agree to Dave.
Please do us the favour and make a picture of the door paint tag, and try to find an untouched area with original color and let us have a look at it, please.

The sign. Don't know the VIN, but this is Ferrys own 1969-model.

    Einer,
in which relation are you to the car?
The „Family“ had of course sometimes special colors, unique codes, not available to „public“.

    I have an olive car.
but it is 3939 for 1971

there are 3 olives....earth olive, olive green(which is 1974 on) and olive green metallic

your number matches olive green metallic...which I thought was only on "one" car in those earlier years, which was Ferry's personal car that came to monterey, CA.
it is one of my favorite colors on these cars.

Okay, so this is a custom color just for Ferry's car. It is a very early 1970 MY; 9110300014. The paint code is very similar to the 1969 silver metallic code which also has two lines of code. The lower line is the clear-coat for the metallic series, and it is the same code as used in 1969; obviously a carry-over since the majority of 1970 Porsche built cars used a different system. Thanks very much for bringing this car and paint code to my attention. I have learned a lot through this thread.
