Is your aluminum roll cage a factory item for a 1973 ? Any price ?

A 1973 RSR had a steel roll bar.

-I suppose you are referring to the oil cooler duct? Elephant racing sells a steel replica that is very true to the original.

Have you seen an original factory duct on a 73 RSR ? The duct from Elephant is for a 1974/75 RSR . I have been told a 1973 was different ? Do you have pictures ? The roll bar I know is steel, but the factory cars might have been aluminum ? Have any parts ?

    Hi Mike,

Unfortunately I have never seen a real rsr duct (I asked Jerry Seinfeld a while back but never received any news, go figure).

Here are some of the photos I had found of real 1973 rsr's as per Pbase.

As you can see the photos posted above show two different configurations (one using a curved duct the other an angled duct). The elephant duct is close to the second one posted but goes a little deeper. It looks like a vast majority of 1973 rsr's were updated in the years following 1973 to other racing specifications and although most of them are now restored to their original spec it's difficult to know if the duct areas were then backdated or simply left using a duct installed post 1973.

Here is the Elephant duct I fitted to my car which I chose after attempting to make my own. The elephant unit is elegant and is, at very worst, close enough for my liking to any original 1973 rsr duct.
